Northtone Rules & Regulations

All prospective students are required to go through an Audition and interview process. Please note:

For full time applicants this process does not guarantee acceptance

For Part time applicants this is to ensure that you are grouped with/ in the right class and with the right teacher to help you achieve your best.

All tuition fee's are to be paid in advance at the beginning of the semester. Students who fail to do so may be declined tuition and loese their placement to another student. For further details regarding Fee's, payment options and semester start and finish dates please refer to semester planner and Fee's for 2010/2011 , or contact the office.

Extra lessons will be charged at the standard lesson rates. If a student is studying more than one course they may qualify for a reduced rate. Please refer to Fee's 2010/2011, or contact the office

All students are required to arrive on time for their lessons. We are unable to move, or extend a lesson due to late arrival, as this will interfere with the schedule for the day

Students are required to arrive prepared. Arrival of a student without his/her instrument, or required tuition material can result in the cancellation of the lesson. While you are at NorthTone you will be receiving the best tuition in the county however failure to practise will hinder your progress and may result in you not keeping up with your programme. In this situation you may be asked to log practise hours or alternatively be asked to leave so we can accommodate those who are more focused on their studies. (Please note full time students are required to log practise time and indicate material covered through our students on-line facility) For information on recommended practise times and content please refer to the course Pdf, or speak to the faculty.

For cancellation of a class NorthTone requires notification at least 48 hours in advance. This is necessary as we need time to rearrange the schedule's and ensure that teaches are not waiting for students. Please note refunds cannot be given for classes not attended as tuition schedules and programmes are planned one year in advance.

In the event of termination of classes one months notice is required. Failure to notify us before the start of a new month will result in your liability for payment in full for the month.

Please note: If the student is in a masterclass, semester programme, short course, or full time programme early termination will only be accepted under extreme conditions

In the case of part time students tuition materials are for the students account. We are able to source all required material for you.

Full time students will receive all material required for the duration of their studies.

In the case of part time students exam entries can only be made once payment has been received. This is for your account and late payment may result in the student being declined from exam entry. Not relevant for full time students

In the event of an absent teacher NorthTone will either substitute the teacher, refund the lesson, or a make-up lesson will be scheduled. Please note that our teachers are top musicians in the county and as such may be involved in session work, or studio time. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that your classes will not clash with the above NorthTone does reserve the right to cancel lessons. You will be notified of all up-coming events that our teaching staff may be involved in.
